teak grown in costa rica

sandy got me, i need to replace about 30 ft of toe rail . it measures 3" high by 1 1/4 " thick. my question is, do i have to get teak grown in thialand , burma, or is costa rican teak ok / thanks

From NJ, your closest supplier may be www.condonlumber.net/ M.L.Condon up in White Plains, NY. They are great folks to deal with and I'd be more concerned with the quality of the lumber, and trying to match up the existing, than the source. They may also have other woods (ipe) that will do the job. Best of all, you can drive up and take a look instead of blindly mail-ordering.
