I will definitely report back in a year or two time. I think itd be great to have timelines of quality(I'll be able to give dates of everything) and maybe future people in a few years will wonder about quality.

Either way, guinea pig trials to be started!

Re: Titan chain

Less than one year in the Caribbean and my 2007 Acco 3/8 HT chain was nothing but rust. I bought new Titan chain in 2015 and 4 years later in the Caribbean, still in good condition.
I’m not sure if Acco fixed this issue with this product but I will never buy chain again from this company.

Re: Titan chain

Almost 7 years now and the Titan chain is still doing well. I have a few spots of light surface rust but no serious rust at all.

Re: Titan chain

I bought a drum of 5/16" x 550' BBB Titan in June of 2018 (see #6). The first third of the length (137') has been on the boat since then. We have used it around 125 to 150 nights per year mostly anchoring in sand and sometimes in mud. It has some light rusting where the links rub against each other. The chain has been reversed end for end each year and most of the rusting is in the middle of the chain. When we got back from the Bahamas in June, it was just beginning to stain the deck and leave behind a small red cloud when the middle section of the chain entered the water. The remaining 413' of chain are in my garage ready to furnish three more similar lengths for the boat anytime I want to swap the first section out. At 71 years old, my children stand to inherit some bright shiny chain.
