Victron battery % different from Renogy solar %

I have a new Victron battery monitor and just bought a new Renogy Rover solar controller, installed both correctly. I have two 100 volt solar panels and two battery banks, a house battery system (350 amp hour) and a starting battery . after a night with refrigeration and a cpap machine (4 amp) and a small fan Renogy shows 66% battery left and Victron shows 92%. Why the difference ?

something is either not programmed right or somehow the power for the frig isn't going through the shunt for the BM

overnight you probably used a lot more than 28AH (350 x 0.08)

What's a cpap machine? Is it an AC device running off the inverter? Is that 4amp DC or AC?

No SoC meter is going to be very accurate.

Most built in to even an expensive sophisticated solar controller is going to be wildly inaccurate.

With cheap gear like Renogy, much less accurate than a BM designed specifically for measuring SoC by a top notch outfit like Victron.

For those using Ah counting methodologies, a shunt placed directly at the bank being measured is essential.

I believe the Renogy, like most SCs only knows about its own amps output, has no idea how much current is being consumed by concurrent loads.

How are you expecting a solar controller to know soc??

The victrons are good and work fine when wired and setup correctly

Some do integrate with a shunt-based add-on and are pretty darn good.

But such options are not among Renogy's offerings.
