Washing Machines

Hi All

So I'm looking for opinions and things people have found regarding washing machines!!

I'm wanting to put one in i think, however my boats 44ft so space is still very limited. Just was wondering what people are using at the moment or if any one knows of any small ones that can be fitted, or eco ones to reduce water. Basically whats the best out there that can be adapted for a boat. My plan is to run it off the generator so powers not a problem, just the most efficient for size and water.

Thank yyou

Re: Washing Machines

Splendie has a model that is both a washer and a air drier. 24"x24"x30"high. Runs on 120v. Don't confuse with a condensing dryer that takes hours and never really drys.

Re: Washing Machines

splendie isnt the best reviewed, but they did have smaller models. i looked at several brands, and found the smaller 2.3cuft all pretty standardized at 24" wide x 33 1/2" tall by 25" deep. id have to heavily modify my pilothouse to maybe get it to fit. i suspect its not going to happen.

there are some 1 and 1.5cuft models, but i didn't get a warm fuzzy about those. may be the best solution.

there are the Asian style spin dryer washers, they are decent. but its hard to find a permanent space for those also.

im still trying to figure something out on this.

Re: Washing Machines

We recently purchased a portable compact washing machine from Amazon. Our boat is 120v so could not buy anything local. Fits nicely in the shower space and being less than 10kg is very easy to remove when we have a shower. Only took 2 weeks to arrive from the US. Looks like the one we purchased is currently out of stock, but their are similar ones available.

Re: Washing Machines

Well, in contrast to what Chris said, there were about four... but this one will probably be the most useful. Lots of replies and good discussion, if I remember aright.

Hope this helps.

Good luck!

Re: Washing Machines

The Splendide washer-drier is made by Indesit. Available in Europe for about $350 inc 20% sales tax. It will be 230v 50Hz. I don't know if it will also take 110v 60Hz.

I’m in I guess my third? Fourth? Year with my 25-lb/11kilo Best Choice Products brand mini-washer with spin, similar to above. I am kind to it; small loads. I use the rinse water from previous load to wash the next load

How long have you been using it?

Arrived 2 months ago and have yet to use in anger. Tested it out once and it worked fine. Ran off the 2000w inverter, no need to use the generator.
