Re: Well, that sucks... which is good.

The little shop vac that I would use for boat projects burned out last year, so I went cordless and got the 18V Rigid vacuum. Actually, it came as the "free tool of my choice" when I bought the ridiculously large and expensive battery. Aside from being a little hard to stow, it works great.
The canister vac was always too bulky and awkward to actually store on the boat, but it did inspire some thoughts that the boat might be a good case for a central vacuum system. Bulky equipment secured back in the lazarette and just a hose outlet in each compartment.
