Re: what product do you wish existed?

A squall alarm (aka wind radar).

I know AC used them, I know glider pilots use them, but they somehow never made it into the cruising market.

Re: what product do you wish existed?

A filter to convert salt water into potable water. Such a simple idea and yet nobody takes on it.

An galley stove/oven that that cooks well and uses a safe, affordable, efficient and available fuel or a way to have an electric range without shore power or a massive generator.

An efficient high amp Enviro-Gen seawater generator: Amazing 12V Saltwater Generator

An antifouling bioagent which feeds on the adhesive properties of various seagoing organisms negating the need for any short term chemical agents.

An ionic dispersal mechanism which repels lightning.

A bio-organism which consumes grey water and yields filtered potable water.

Re: what product do you wish existed?

We want a screen that rolls up neatly that will play DVDs, TV or any other digital media. So we could roll it down the bulkhead when we wanted it, watch and then roll away. Flexible, safe, soft, easy to stow. Yay!

C'mon Jobs and Gates, where is it?

Re: what product do you wish existed?

A dock silencer. No matter what sort of dock party my neighbours launch, I could still read my mag in peace.

Diapers for seagulls.

Paint that permanently sticks to aluminum.

Bottom paint for aluminum which is legal that actually works for more than 3 weeks.

Wood varnish that lasts for more than two years.

A $200,000/year job that allows me to go cruising.
