Small businesses are supposed to be nimble, yet, they’re performing far worse than Amazon.

Don’t be so crabby. I asked for data points, not a solution. Did you miss that part?

Keep in mind, small businesses also suffer far more from an incident of fraud, etc. as their sales volumes are smaller. So if a problem like this only impacts a small portion of their potential customers, they may feel it's not worth the risk and effort to deal with it, as much as it sucks.

Me too. But be careful ordering from HomeDepot.com. I ordered 6-foot-long shelving and they delivered it to SBI instead of my shipping address. Fortunately SBI refused delivery (on my request) and it went back to the shipper. I even got my money back!

Is SBI an acronym for State Bank of India?

Re: Anyone Noticing Problems Ordering Products While Traveling?

No business wants to be saddled with a bunch of fraud losses. They have every right to put in place processes to minimize these losses. I have no problem with them flagging or delaying a transaction that might appear questionable.

I do often have a problem with their attitude about how to resolve the problem. Some of them will work to find a way. Others can’t or won’t be bothered. The businesses that expect me to change my lifestyle somehow to conform to their systems will simply drive me to deal with somebody else.
