Excess Repurchase from Force 9

I am chartering a bareboat out of Guadeloupe to race in Antigua Sailing Week. This carries a pretty high liability...7000 Eur damage deposit.

I can buy an insurance policy from a French company to cover most of this... this is called Excess Repurchase. From an outfit called Force 9, St Malo, FR.
Would cost me about 639 Eur.

Anybody have any experience collecting on this kind of insurance? It would be worth it if I knew they would actually cover me if stuff get broken, etc.

I think you might mean the Force 9 package from Quest insurance , which is a large reputable broker in France

Re: Excess Repurchase from Force 9

Thanks, you are correct about the name of the firm.

I read the fine print and coverage is quite bad for the price. Who knows how much hassle a claim might be?

Plan A: avoid "bumper boats" during Sailing Week.
