Financing Question

I’d like to begin by thanking all of you. I’m completely new to this and I’ve learned so much by reading through all of the threads here. My wife and I had been wanting to buy a cruising sailboat for sometime now. Luckily it seems as though we’ll be ready very soon. We are beginning to look at some boat options and several of the ones that interest us are in the BVI’s. We’ll need to finance this boat, is it possible for a US citizen living in the mainland US to get bank financing for a sailboat purchase in the British Virgin Islands?
