What does diesel cost in other countries throughout the earth (cheapest/highest)?

What where your experiences with officials/locals, any precautions to take?

Thanks.

Re: Fueling up costs?

In the UK it's complicated. Fuel for propulsion is subject to excise taxes; fuel used for heating and generating electricity is not. You declare in what proportion you use your fuel. The last time I topped off my tanks, in Cowes last December, I ended up with total cost of about 80p per liter, which amounts to about 5.80 US Dollars per US gallon. An empty tank would take about a thousand dollars to fill on my boat.

Re: Fueling up costs?

Well main reason for starting this thread is that its been quoted that certain countries such as Venzuala, Saudi Arabia, Egypt/Libya, Iran, and do not remember the great oil producing country in SE Asia that all have very affordable fuel prices. Would like to hear from cruisers with first hand experience.

Would thing anybody thats familiar with Beebe/Buehler type boats or that use diesel engine as main propulsion have great interest in this topic.
