Hobie 16 for Macgregor 25?

Hey guys, just looking for some advice. I am considering trading my hobie 16 for a macgregor 25. The 25 needs some tlc, but has a main, jib, and spinnaker. The hobie is in great shape with a trailer. Is it a fair trade and what should i watch out for with the 25? Pictures of both are shown below.
Thanks!

Welcome to CF !

Different sailing to be sure... All depends what your objectives are... I'd be looking for a Catalina 22/25/27 instead... The mac is an "OK" boat, not the best sailing craft... Don't think you'd be making a mistake if you wanted to stay dry and sail with an ice chest and tunes though!

I have a 26d macgregor they are fun i learned to sail on it a few years ago and am now buying it from my buddy this winter. If you are done with the your boat why not try something new.
