As mentioned earlier, please contact Malaysian Marine Supplies Sdn. Bhd. at Info.marine@rocketmail.com We have all our Langkawi registered yachts insured with them.

You don't be stingy ma.....this company is a professional, all their staffs are mariners with lots of yachting and ship experience.

Thanks for the link, atoll. They are the first to actually respond with a quote; ~US$600 for 300k liability. Not completely out of reach, but a bit steep.

need buy full insurance US$5000 !!!!!!
and third party limited is 50k liability!!!

Nobody who answered your post is a marine insurance agent. The reasons given as to why you are having difficulty finding insurance are made up and pure BS.

I suggest that you find an independent insurance agent and have him or her find you a company that will provide what you need. An independent insurance agent is one who doesn't work for a particular insurance company but who sells insurance from many companies.

Perhaps it's a regional issue, as Zven mentioned in this thread. Or perhaps it's due to boat size or other considerations. Amazing that there's such a discrepancy.

I was told today that you engaged an unauthorized black market Agent that does not know how to do the registration and does not have any yachting back ground.

Your yacht Certificate of Registry was not in order and bad, and can be cancelled any moment if someone lodge a Police report against it. Advised was give to corrected it.

Quotation for the third party liability coverage was given earlier, but you maintained silent and did not respond to it until today.

What's wrong with you as claimed you are a world champion on sailing in China and bla, bla, bla.........

Please respond to them as they sincerely wanna help you and solve your problems at once.

From the sparse information that fly has posted, it appears that they intend to sail the globe single-handed. And that alone would make them uninsurable with most companies, at any price. As could the age and type of the vessel, or many other very simple and common factors.

But since we have no information except the apparent consensus of one hundred brokers that the owner and vessel are nearly uninsurable...There might be a simple sound reason for their consensus.

Is the Edward Williams agency something related to the agency out of Oz, that people posted about in recent years as not paying out anything on claims? That they had dug up the agency because they were price shopping for the cheapest possible insurance when in similar situations?
