Insurance as Panama resident

Hello sailors,

I am Panama resident, german citizen and have a polish Sailboat. Can anybody help me finding a third party liability insurance for Canaries, Caribbean and Panama?

Almost every single company I had contact with excludes Carib or says "they don't do this" pointing out the fact I live in Panama. The worst company I was in contact with is Pantenius. They just laughed and hang up the phone. HavenKnox insured me for a year in Europe, but quit because of my residency. I never had claimed an accident and have sailing experience. It's super hard for me to get hands on an insurance product.

Feels discriminating. What's the point of not giving insurance to people living in Panama? I mean I contacted around 10 companies. Whats next, making an own insurance company to file a contract for my own boat to be able to enter marinas?

Please help me out if you can, am desperate with that.

Panama doesn't have insurance companies?

Also, what do you mean Polish sailboat? HR is Swedish, no?

Interesting. I have residency in Panama and it has never been an issue. In fact, I dont recall an insurance company ever asking. USA Documented Vessel, USA Citizen so my scenario is simpler.

Try ORM (Offshore Risk Management).

It's a polish registered boat. HR produces in Ellös / Sweden. Very nice place.
