any advice? - boat in good condition but need basic insurnace once
70 miles off US coast

I got a 1979 boat fully insured for Florida and the Bahamas, year around.

insurance is rated by area of use. once you cross the florida line it goes up, and with a rider will include the bahamas. this will be the hightest rates in the us. for instance the sc,nc chesepeke coast is cheaper. get a rate from boatus in different location. and remember they will use fully depreciated rates when and if you file a claim. Ins companys are not your friend!

I've insured boats that old with Boat US. I'd also try IMIS.
