Insurance Question for Cruising Canadians

What insurance company do you use? I have been searching for over a month for a company with no luck - some say our boat is too small for their US navigation insurance - our boat is a 28.5 Hunter, or they say they will only insure as far as Cape Cod. We plan to sail next year - the East coast starting in Maine, stopping in Delaware docking her for the summer then starting down the ICW mid October and living aboard for three months then dock her for the summer and so forth. Basically we only plan to sail in the winter in the US since we work for the summer. Our home port though would considered to be PEI since that is where we live and will licence the boat. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated...

As for medical insurance we have Provincial insurance that will reimburse us to a certain extent for medical care for up to three months out of the country (I have to check the exact amount months here in PEI). We might look at health/travel insurance through CAA on top of that. WE also have some coverage through our current credit cards. We will look into that closer to the time we are leaving. We probably won't be more than three months at a time in the US since I have family commitments and buying to do for my business.

Thanks for the help on insurance companies I have some quotes coming now which is further than I have gotten in over a month - all I kept hearing was nope won't cover you....

As Canadians, they are always covered. But getting DAN dive insurance for medical evacuation would be a good idea.
