Is Skipper Dan Good Value For Money?

Hi All,

I have been searching around the internet for some bargains as I need to upgrade some kit.

I have found a few posts mentioning Marine electrical, navigation, gps, autopilots, ssb radios, chartplotters, portable fish finder, life rafts and wanted to get your opions on the site. I have a friend who bought a cheap product before from there and it was delivered very fast but As I am looking to spend a few thousand dollars I wanted some reassurance from you knowledagble guys here.

So my question is Does Skipper Dan Marine offer value for money worth the money"

I've done some searching on the internet for a variety of similar items. I can't comment on Skipper Dan. Interestingly, it seems that Dogbyte computer sells a lot of marine related equipment and their prices are very good. Their online response to questions has been good. I haven't started to purchase much yet but those seem to be good signs. Also, I've found that Amazon (and their member online companies) carry a lot of stuff as well.

I suspect that if you are purchasing new equipment, the performance, reliability, warranty, service, etc. will depend on the manufacturer and not on the seller.

I have bought quite a bit of brand new marine stuff on e-bay.
Good bargains there on electronics, autopilots, etc..
