Kalik Yachts

Hi forum mates
can anyone give me any information on yachts made by Kalik? I have come across one while searching for a yacht for a friend but I have never heard of them.
Thanks to ye all
Ron

The Kalik 40 and 44 were designed by Gary Mull, and built by several different companies around the globe. Jacques de Ridder designed the Kalik 30 & 33.

Kaliks in the late 70's early 80's were built by Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan Korea under the name "Soverien Yachts Kalik". Later the molds moved over to Belgium, and were built by Jachtwerf Vennekens. They have been seen as a Kalik 44, Olson 44, Ocean 44, and Concept 44.

We love our Kalik

We bought our second yacht about 6 years ago - a Kalik 40 (1982, Korea, sold as Concept 40). We love her. She is strong (as was the fashion in the late 70s when these were built) and sails like a gem. We rebuilt ours - gave her a new deck and completely stripped her inside, and it was totally worth the work we put in. You can buy them cheap, now - and I say if you have the chance and the skill - GO FOR IT!!!

Our first yacht was an Eliminator 32 (1979) - also late seventies - which we salvaged from her hard standing after she was brought up from the bottom of the sea - also worth her weight, but we upgraded for the space.
