Re: mobile sim cards.

You can get a fixed contract long term+roaming service while in the EU, but it will be dear. We simply buy a new prepaid in each and every country and use an unlocked phone. Sure the number changes but the price is OK.

Orange worked OK for us in any case within the EU.

International SIM Card for Europe, Asia, 200 Global Countries

OneSimCard.com is the most reasonable that I'm aware of.

Get a google Talk account. You can forward your google phone number, at any time, to any new phone number get in the future.

Hi,
Please try Gymsim at Gymsim.com.
I have used these now for several years and have been pleasantly surprised with their service.
As long as you read their Tarif roadmap and can understand it you can make a good saving. In fact in some cases it is cheaper than buying a local SIM

Re: mobile sim cards.

Hi Deck Scrubber, I work overseas, and live in the US. I travel extensively, and the best answer I have found for me is a dual sim card phone with 4 bands, and then purchase a sim card for whatever country I find myself in; Samsung builds a number of models. It seems to me every call plan really socks it to you once you leave their area of coverage, and using the local prepaid sim to call home is usually cheaper, at least for me. My people don't call me, I call them periodically and use email as my main line of communication. Other's experiences may vary.
