Re: Pitfalls of Buying a Boat Unseen?

Your English is much better than my Norwegian.

The only Norwegian words I know are Sagafiord, Bergen and Engesland - hubba hubba !

Re: Pitfalls of Buying a Boat Unseen?

Gentle people,
I have now for the first time read this thread..... as the link was posted on their website...interestingly disparate points of view.
Happily it has all turned out rather nicely for them and they are now in the Galapagos.. and all is well.
One final shipment arrived after they left ( they had about 40 in all)..... a dive mask and some reef shoes..... not sure where to send them.
You can read the final outcome of their purchase experience here

Pretty sobering reading, this thread.

Congratulations, and Best of luck, Blue Marble

Oh, and "notoriously" leaking hatches is perfect English; rather colourful. I think he's probably saying that hatches in general are inclined to leak, or they have the reputation for leaking.

I guess hatches in a charter boat (and the seals and latches) get a hard time.

Re: Pitfalls of Buying a Boat Unseen?

Some one emailed me and said the link to the thread of their final purchase experience was broken.
Their Journey is over now... but you can still see the link HERE
