Insurance

If you have a personal injury claim filed against you, it could be large. It might bankrupt you, and you may have a lein against your future income. If the boat sinks you could be out the value of the boat. $1,000,000 liability claim possible versus the value of the boat. The 1M is a guess, it could be more or it could be a lot less. For me the liability is the critical issue. I can buy another boat, I can not afford to drown or injure anyone.

I would second the recommendation for Al Golden. I've known him for many years, and he'll always take time to answer a question honestly and openly, even on comparing policies with others.

I can't say anything about rates, but he's probably the only person I know in any business like that, who I'd call completely reputable. Whatever he sells you--it will exist and you will get that coverage, no weasels involved.

If you have any type of accident or sink in US waters, the USCG will be on your case for environmental spills, fuel cleanup, AND often wreck removal and salvage costs as well. Al's the kind of guy who will tell you that up front rather than trying to sell you a cheap policy that conveniently doesn't mention or excludes those things. He's a professional.

Just a note on how expensie it is to have the Jack Line insurance, Last week I checked out most of the other insurance Co. & found that the Jack Line & Jim Muller (Jim@IMIScorp.net) was a lot cheaper for the coverage I got, in fact it was more than a thousand dollars so less along with there good Reputation , I went with them.
