Hi all,

I'm new to sailing and am looking to buy my first sailing boat.
Came across a 42 SUN ODYSSEY, 1992. What advice can you give me apart from a thorough survey to make sure it is well and sound.

Enjoyed some time on a 42 SO... No complaints!

Do a search of survey items, or list... There's lots of good info here... That way you'll be more informed of what's going on...

Obviously don't take surveyor recommendations from the broker... Walk the docks, ask around... Get references...

What do you reckon buying a boat that is of 1992. How do boats age? Should I spend more and buy a more recent, modern boat or is a well maintained 1992 boat as good?
