Advice for selling used gear online

Hello,

With scams abound and different platforms having more or less traffic, does anyone have any recommendations on the best places to list used, but good sailing gear. I feel like posting anything on email results in scammers wanting your personal details. Same for LetGo.

How is the traffic on cruisers forum vs sailing anarchy? Any other forums? What about Facebook market place?

Also for used, if an item is in good condition, is 75% of list price a good starting point for resale pricing? Maybe 1/2?

I have a torqeedo 2.0 with the large external battery and charger, plus spare parts. It came with the mother ship when I bought it but I had a 15hp in the garage.

What have you seen work?

Re: Advice for selling used gear online

When I buy from discussion board ads I look for a history that the seller has been a member of the discussion board for some time. Brand new posters get ignored.

As for pricing I have been selling Ham equipment for my club for a long time. Usually estate or donated equipment some for the club, some for the families. Brand new in box current products 75% of list - remember this is is as is, no warranty. Used or older model equipment starts at 50% and goes down from there.

If you are in the USA try posting on Craigslist. a torqeedo 2.0 with the large external battery and charger, plus spare parts is heavy, a local buyer is best.
