LRPP [emoji634] 5-0; becomes really difficult for ITUK.

Luna Rossa is just sharper and that extra knot just makes them unbeatable..

America’s Cup - ETNZ launches 1st AC75 (new)

THAT was a race!
Solid start, in control the whole way. Shaky fifth leg where Prada was controlling them with the tacking duel.
But well done.

Glad it was not a whitewash and we get 2 races on Sunday.

But the difference is that Prada kept it close all the way

We were just sailing around and going through the Rangitoto Channel during race 5 and past Islington Bay for race 6. Gonna watch that one on replay to catch the parts I missed while having to sail the boat. At Woody Bay, Rakino Island for the night - one of our favourite local bays and totally empty through the winter - about 20 tonight.

Re: America’s Cup - ETNZ launches 1st AC75 (new)

I am trying to understand the Rules
2 races tomorrow say 5:3
? 2 races Monday 22nd say 6:4

On the AC website Prada Cup ends on 22nd...
.. does that mean Prada wins?
What if it was 5:5 on 22nd?

I suspect Ineos, to windward, failed to keep adequately clear of Prada.

Re: America’s Cup - ETNZ launches 1st AC75 (new)

I know that there is some rule as to the distance the boats must keep clear due to the extension of the foils.....but it seems to be a moving target to me......I know they got judges and umpires right on their butt to determine it all......but in this case, it was Spithill convincing an umpire to rule in their favor....'jes sayin'.....

Yes, that is absolutely the call. Prada could not come up as they pleased because Eneos interceded with their boat.

And it was unnecessary. It was clear that Ainsley put the boat into a barging position and he had a chance, a brief chance, to dive below Prada and possibly hook them, and possibly force them over early, but he wanted the right side and did not take the opportunity, then it was opportunity lost and protest inevitable.

Still, even though it was a blow out, the start made it interesting.

this video explains the start of race #5....lots of rules to be observed here....these boats need a full time lawyer on board
