Anyone in the Maryland Area?

Hi all,
I was curious if there were current cruisers that are in the Maryland area and/or live in that area? Thanks all!!

Re: Anyone in the Maryland Area?

Lots of cruisers in MD in the summer. Not so many in March. There are some year-round live aboard cruisers. I don't think they go out much in winter in general but stay in marinas where they can get their boats set up to be as comfortable as possible when the temps get low.

Re: Anyone in the Maryland Area?

We are "cruisers" of a sort... and we're in Maryland.

We usually do hub-and-spoke cruising, interspersed with occasional longer circular routes around the Chesapeake and tributaries. Interrupted by the occasional AICW trip and winter down South somewhere.

Shadow: Where are you? This is why it is very helpful to put both some description of your boat and local sailing area in your signature....

You've been registered for 13 years so... get with it! Just teasin'.

Where in Maryland is your friend's boat? MD is a big waterfront state with several thousand miles of Chesapeake Bay shoreline.

Re: Anyone in the Maryland Area?

Thanks all for jumping in.. I'm currently in southern Cal and my friend is in Seattle.. I think he was wanting actual eyes, that we can trust on a boat on the chesapeake just south of Annapolis.. I didn't want to give more information unless someone was able and willing to assist, which is GREATLY appreciated!! As I appreciate everyone's time and didn't want to waste it..

Of course I'm from a heavy sailing family but they are all out...... Sailing... LOL and nowhere near that area.. The ones that are left behind don't care and wouldn't know from a bilge to port.... I'll get more confirmation as the week unfolds, but thank you everyone for volunteering your time!! That's why I LOVE the sailing community!!

Re: Anyone in the Maryland Area?

OK. FWIW, we're "just south of Annapolis"... and happy to try to help... but then again I'm maybe not a perfect choice to assess sailboats.
