Bavaria 38

Hi
I have a Bavaria 38 with a charging problem
Shore power charges both the house battery and the ships battery
The engine generator (Volvo ) will only charge the ships battery
Any advice would be great

Do you know how your boat is wired? Does alternator output go direct to the Battery switch?

It all depends on how it's wired. This question is useless without a wiring diagram or a further description of the system. Many boats are like that from the factory: dual shorepower charging leads, with a single output from an alternator (what else would you expect?). Do you have an ACR? We need much more info to even begin to start to help you, all the rest is just guessing.

PS this is an odd section of the forum to post this question, there is an electrical section.
