Caribbean Liability Insurance

Hello all,
I'm a US citizen in the process of purchasing a boat in Grenada and am looking for 3rd party liability insurance. Any recommendations for companies to use? Boat is older with current good survey. thanks in advance.

Legend, Regretfully I cannot help as I am in almost the same situation. We purchased a Boat in Tahiti and need:

1st coverage needed - in-water managed storage - Now thru March 2023 - The vessel is in Tahiti and will remain (without use) in the listing brokerage slip, care and custody in Tahiti until March 2023.

2nd coverage starting April 2023 - Delivery coverage - she will then be delivered via in-water professional captain delivery to Hawaii in March/April 2023.

3rd coverage - storage and maintenance coverage - She will then be imported via Trey Reeder in Hawaii April 2023. A few upgrades will be added.

4th coverage - Delivery coverage - She will then be in-water delivered from Hawaii to Alaska via professional Captain delivery.

5th coverage we have a quote for but could be part of a package - May 2023 - Once in Alaska she will be professionally maintained and managed by a Captain and then finally sailed for pleasure with that Captain until I get my Captains license.

The vessel will be REGISTERED IN ALASKA for TAX reasons.

If you or anyone out there can offer any assistance or suggestions I would be most appreciative. James

I have Caribbean liability only insurance with Pantaenius insurance (using the U.K. offices) - but the flag of registry doesn't matter.

I've requested a quote for Caribbean liability only, on their website, and they said they can't offer it. My boat is registered in Poland and I'm a resident in Portugal. What year was your boat built?

I sent them a request and am hoping for a quick response. They said they would not write a policy for US registry but here is hoping that if we leave it in the current French registry until we get to Hawaii where I have a policy waiting they will cover it.

Mine is a 2011 Jeanneau 57 and I have a full U.K. registry. Was the response regarding not being able to give you a quote an automated one? I think I contacted someone there directly on the phone prior to getting a quote. I've had this policy for 2-3 years, before that I was with Pantaenius Germany and liability only there as well; perhaps you might want to contact them in Hamburg.

If you are a US citizen they are not likely to cover you regardless of which flag your boat has.
