Cheoy lee pedrick 47

Hello all
I’m very much interested in a Cheoy Lee pedrick 47. My wife and I are looking to live aboard in the Caribbean for the next bit of time and I’m concerned because it only has an engine driven fridge/freezer. Any body willing to chime in on experiences with and or replacements of, these interesting choices of cold food storage? I believe you can just hook them up to a 12 volt but not sure how long that would be lasting anyway.
Thanks in advance and fair winds
Justin

You can sometimes install a second plate run off of a second system, in this case 12 or 24 volt. Then you have the advantage of both, but the disadvantage of reduced space.
