My point: Having a watermaker certainly takes the safety consideration of the local drinking water out of the cruising equation.

My point was simply that the statement that a water maker is a "must have" for "solving" the problem of acquiring diarrhea parasites is a stretch, if not just inaccurate.

You drew a direct connection between water and disease in a particular case, and I was questioning whether you could draw that connection as fact.

One should not be led to believe that they are safe from certain diseases just by owning a water maker.
