Re: Defintion of a crusier

All I can say is that cruisers have certainly changed over the last few years. So many of those arriving in NZ these days seem to be in charge of massive catamarans bristling with every conceivable electronic device & brimming with toys. The maintenance companies descend upon them on arrival & have a field day!! The owners of these & many other arrivals park up in the marina & disappear off home to wherever home is. When we arrived 20 years ago after 8 years cruising & only 4 days in a marina during that time, we only went alongside to check in! Then out & about to explore this beautiful Country. I live in a marina now due to work commitments but every opportunity I get I am out there enjoying freedom.

Re: Defintion of a crusier

Somehow the chart (s) need to reflect legal wife who loves boating, tolerates boating, comes long but doesn't do anything but read, or ztas at home trying to out do boat expenses with furniture and decor purchases.

Re: Defintion of a crusier

Holy kauai chickens....

Pretty simple, we all are what we are, and that is not going to change.

So, just keep on keeping on and enjoying the sailing, power boating, live aboarding, cruising, bare boating, day sailing , slip sailing, dock side pub crawling, diving, snorkeling, racing, building our own boats, and having one heck of a life, on, in or near the water.

As to what category on a chart that i may fall into. well, I already know that, and do not much care about tracking a dot to find out who or where I am and then not agree with the result .

Albeit, this is a fun and interesting idea for the forum.

Me thinks it is time to Splice the Mainbrace,

Keep the fun light illuminated

It is all good.

Re: Defintion of a crusier

This reminds me of a post on here, don’t remember what the post was about, but someone had brought a boat and declared that the former owner “could never of sailed it very often” reason being “no electric windlass today lift the anchor!
God forbid
Personally I would consider it an insult if anyone ever suggested I get one.
