Dingy-Tow users

Our Freedom 39 Pilothouse Schooner has a dinghy-tow

Davron Marine Products (Dinghy-Tow)

We've never used it yet as our inflatable kayaks have been our mode of choice. Now we have a roll-up inflatable with 4 hp motor and I installed the brackets on the dinghy transom.
One thing we have done that works great is connecting the two ends to make a triangle and then drop our v-berth triangle board into that space to make an instant swim platform! Works great! (and we can put it all away when taking a slip)

Any tips or insights on how your Dinghy-Tow set up has worked?

Only a very little accumulates in the bow and you can either sponge it out or tip it back to drain from the rear . The design is brilliant as there is only a tiny portion of the dinghy in the water so little drag, no painter managing or snags, no potential for flips and the dinghy is not blocking your rear sightlines or swinging on davits. Plus the outboard can be left on for most short trips and is super easy to launch. Some users have used the set up to get back to the slip or anchorage when their main motor failed.
I'm looking for any tips or pointers from those who have one too.
