Think it's to far off shore for a fishing boat or a vessel without communications could of picked him up. Did they say if there was a life raft or dinghy still aboard?

I'm curious whether he went overboard in a storm -- or possibly just a random slip in fine weather.

Mr Hagen's yacht "Pokerface" is a 27ft Gib'Sea Flush Poker with no dinghy or liferaft. The only form of communication on board was a hand held VHF.
