Farymann R30 engine parts

Hello I have a Farymann R30 that recently bit the dust. Before it did I struggled to find parts for it. Since it's the pride of west Germany and outdated. So I figured I'd offer up any parts of the engine. Hoping someone can make treasure out of my trash. Of course free to anyone who can pick it up. I'm in Baltimore county, sparrows point at the Old Bay Marina. I'm about to be hauled out and I'll start to disassemble. I have a Tartan 34. So if you have one and need any parts I'd be happy to help out

Re: Farymann R30 engine parts

Patrick -

I have a Tartan 34 with a Faryman R30 - what did you use to replace it? Did you have to make new engine beds?

Thanks!
Brad

Re: Farymann R30 engine parts

Hi blcote I used a 2ym15 yanmar to replace it. I feel it has a little more pep then the old 19.8 hp r30. The yanmar is taller. I had to take out the port engine bed and replace it with a new one. The starboard bed was cut down. I mounted a steel plate on that which was tapped to give holes in which the mounting feet were bolted into. It was not an easy job, and like everything involved in boating, it all had to be customized. Feel free to give me a call if you have any questions or concerns about repowering your Tartan.
