Internet while cruising Bahamas

We are going to be leaving for the Bahamas from south Florida in February to cruise in the Bahamas. We will definitely need internet and are considering ATT’s International Day Pass. Has anyone used this while cruising in the Bahamas? What was your experience? ATT says you can use your devices just like you do at home but being in the Bahamas could still mean less coverage and slower speeds. Any information would be appreciated.

Re: Internet while cruising Bahamas

In the past we have been astonished at how good the cell service is thru local provider Aliv. Signal is available in many remote locations. I think this network is probably what serve s ATT in the Bahamas. So I would have high expectations. But you might want to confirm with ATT or have a back up plan.

Aliv now offers a Myfi system for not much money. Haven’t tried it. We will be there soon.

Re: Internet while cruising Bahamas

If your current cell service includes roaming AND you are in reception distance to a Bahamas tower you will have service just like anywhere. If you want to know where the towers are go the the BTC site and look it up. In past I have used used a Bahamas MIFI for internet and it worked mostly fine as long as in tower range.
