Marina Recommendation SW Florida

In early 2024, I will either be putting the boat on the hard in North Carolina to make final preperations before a departure for the Northwest Passage, or I will be sailing down to Naples, Florida to visit family. In either situation, I will be sailing my only boat, a 35' Hallberg Rassy Rasmus.

While it is my hope that my dreams and aspirations to sail the northwest passage through whatever window presents itself over the summer of 2024, in an abundance of caution I'm exploring my options should I be "forced" to sail south. As such, I am seeking a marina recommendation in and around the southwest coast. Some further context, in no particular order...

- If sailing to the Naples, Florida area, the boat doesn't necessarily need to stay there. I'd be happy to sail further up (or back down) the coast any distance within 150-200NM for the right spot.

- I'm not opposed to a mooring ball situation, although I'd want to have easy access (and storage) for dinghy.

- The boat would likely find it's home down in Florida from early 2024 through early 2025. As such, a marina that either has a hurricane contingency plan and/or easy access to being able to be hauled out.

- Being able to do "light" boatwork at the marina would be a plus.

- I'd like to keep costs below $1,000 a month. I currently am paying $600 a month in Charleston, which is about $100 below the going rate for a slip around here.

Happy to answer any other questions you all may have. Just looking for some advice/recommendation. I suppose if you have any recommendation on routing from Charleston to Naples too, I'd happy read your thoughts.

Onward,
SV Allie Rose

Re: Marina Recommendation SW Florida

If your mast is under 55’ you may find the best rates up the calsahootchie river.
