Yeah, I'll never forget how selfless Rod has been in offering his knowledge, a PRICELESS resource, to the sailing community - for years now.

I feel it's the least we can do to help defray some of his enormous medical and rehab expenses. I think he says on his website that the amount is approaching $800,000, which is obscene, as far as I'm concerned.

Please donate to Rod if you're able.
Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone

Re: Marine How-To and Gratitude at Thanksgiving

So today is not e-zactly Giving Tuesday (https://www.givingtuesday.ca/), but for those who haven't heard of it, the original intention of Giving Tuesday was to offset the crazy spending and buying we all do on Black Friday, the day following US Thanksgiving.

Anyway! You all know my particular way of building our sailing community by supporting people like Rod of www.marinehowto.com who has given selflessly of himself and his knowledge for years.

As a community, we are also generally quite well-off, so if you could take a moment and go to Rod's website and make a donation to offset his healthcare costs. Every little bit helps, I'm sure.

Thank you so much to everyone who has already given.

I will also reiterate that I have no connection to Rod myself, I've just been the grateful beneficiary of his expertise and recommended his site countless times to fellow mariners. I wish I knew how many times (!) and could get each of those beneficiaries to donate $ten bucks...!

Happy Giving Tuesday, All,
Warmly,
LittleWing77

An example, just this morning of how we all depend on Rod, maybe without realising it:

One way to check, in addition to Mike's ideas, is this one:

Stu recommends advice by Maine Sail on Sailnet. Maine Sail is Rod.

Please donate if you're able.

Re: Marine How-To and Gratitude at Thanksgiving

Thanks all! Having to shut down my business, let my employees go, and being forced into medical retirement sucks for sure. I am still writing articles (with one finger and speech to text. I still have 350K images in my database, to work from, so I have plenty of material. At this point we are just trying to keep the site free and ad free. I no longer have much (more like no) disposable income so any support for MarineHowTo.com is really really appreciated! Again, thanks for all the support!
