Pretty rough weather we've been having the last two days that had to effect them if they were in that boat.

Re: missing children on sailboat

I just read this and watched the news vid and doesn't seem funny that a married couple, one of them an engineer, has to kidnapp their own children from the inlaws? Nothing I've watched or read says WHY the children, 2 boys, aren't with their father and I can see why a father would want his own off-spring to be with him.
Thoughts based on what I've read so far although I don't know the whole story, it does seem as though everyone has carefully skirted the above mentioned issue.

Re: missing children on sailboat

Sorry, I just read the bottom of the link above and got it. I'd like to hope that the parents just want their children with them to go on with life, not to end it. I'd be hard pressed to let anyone remove my children from our custody. Ours are all grown up and gone on their own though.

If it's kidnapping, then that means custody was given to the in-laws by the courts. I would imagine that there is a good, and not pretty, reason for why that happened.

The Amber Alert linked above answers all those questions I think.

Maybe in Ft. Lauderdale, but over here in the Tampa Bay area it was a beautiful weekend. Winds a little light for sailing, but clear and calm.

For those feeling some sympathy for the mother and father who kidnapped their own children, let's remember that they threatened to kill the grandmother, held her at gun-point, tied her up, and then stole her car. Yeah, some great parents there. Can't imagine why they had custody taken away.

Re: missing children on sailboat

Wonder if they'll extradite or let them stay just to thumb their nose at the US.
