New to Sailing . . .

...Okay, to be honest, other than a sunset sail off of Providenciales (as a passenger) and a 2-hour skin bake with my wife and three kids where I ended up swim-towing a Hobie back to the beach (also at Provo), I've never sailed.

But doesn't wanting to...so bad I can TASTE it...count for anything?

I'm here just to read and absorb, until I can pull the trigger on a decision, get a boat and get out! (oh, yeah! AFTER learning to sail...care for a boat...fix stuff...etc.)

Y'all's patience with the occasional stupid question is appreciated, in advance.

Sincerely,
TexDoc

Re: New to sailing...

Never forget Doc, everybody on this forum was once just like you. Learning to sail is like learning anything else.

The first part (in this case making a boat go) comes pretty quickly, the rest of it takes time / patience and good friends.

I suspect you'll find anything you need around here somewhere... lol

Texdoc you are very welcome to the fun. I hope I can continue to learn my whole life. Certainly don't know it all.

If you don't start, you'll never get to sail off into the sunset. Just put people who think beginners shouldn't be here on filter.

Re: New to sailing...

You are new to sailing, and I am old to sailing, but everytime I go out, it feels just as good as new.
