Well, if you don’t understand the basic premise of compound units it’s best you don’t wade into this topic, particularly with words like ‘moron’.

The unit you are referring to is the Foot*Pound, “foot/pound” as you put it would be foot PER pound which is a nonsense unit for discussions of torque.

Yes, I wish the Idaho border was the Pacific Ocean so as to have a long coast line and beaches so as avail larger voyages.

But then that is a reason to leave the State in the winter and go to the tropics or New Zealand and charter a boat.

And during winter we remind ourselves that during summer we don't have hurricanes.

Since intelligence is supposed to be a normally distributed bell curve** the median, mean, and "average" all should be the same.

But since the majority of people have no idea what the difference between "mean" and "median" actually is, to make the original quote understandable to the most people, I used the ambiguous, but in this case, adequate, word "average."

**Didn't some guys get into a lot of trouble for pointing this out in a book?

Pot, meet kettle.
FWIW, my BMI is approximately 0.03 foot/pounds

(6ft, 200 lbs = 6/200 = 0.03 ft/lb)

If they are pots and kettles, I don't know what you might be, since BMI is actually body mass (in kg) divided by height in meters squared....

So a real BMI is actually kg/m^2

Of course with a made-up unit like BMI, I guess you are free to make-up your own definition...

But... in three-dimensional Euclidean space I just use regular meters to measure my height!

"metres squared" is not a unit of height, it is a unit of area

Re: Please... Make it stop!

I use Disconnect and Ad Blocker Ultimate with Firefox and I see almost no ads ever.

And I measure my generator output in pirate-ninjas.

My son wrote it, and sold it, now about 5 years ago.

Free, or feel free to make a donation.

Good on virtually every browser, nearly all phones, too.

If you do FB, it will allow you to block segments you don't want, even if they're not really advertising.

Got a page you really want to see ads on? Whitelist it (disable AB on a given url)

getadblock.com to find it... No leading www needed...

And, they are in the process of releasing a new version this year with a more up to date interface too.
