A new pop up add has appeared (or at least new to me...) promising me:

"6000 Amps per day."

This just hurts my eyeballs and raises my blood pressure.

Besides the insanely inflated nature of the claims... (I think he is trying to promise 72kW-hours of energy per day.... Yeah... Right!) Who would buy an electrical generating device from somebody who doesn't even know what an Ampere is????

While I applaud the intent, I suspect you are tilting at windmills. On this very site I was lectured about how a Watt*hour is not a proper unit, despite the fact that every electrical utility in the world bills for delivered energy in Wh.

On the flip side, I was once served up a Spectra ad that used nonsensical units (it was either A/gallon or W/gallon). Sent them a note and they fixed it within a couple of days.

Of course, in my original post there was very much an eye-rolling humor intended, at the deliberate expense of the ad poster.

Not to hijack this thread, but how does that work and what does it cost ? I wouldn’t imagine it works on YouTube also ? I’m sick of ads to.

There is a sucker born every day. It is unfortunate that they are taken advantage of but keep your blood pressure down, not a thing you can do about it.

How about "Feet/Pound" or "Feets/Pound or even Feets/Pounds for torque. Since the word "feet" is plural none of these make any sense at all. Torque (for 200 years) is measured in "foot/pounds" you morons who mostly write ads for car manufacturers.

It's a free plug in or add on available for all major browsers. It is quite customisable. Highly recommend it, or some similar version. Makes the whole WWW much more tolerable.

Youtube... funny you should ask there. I do still get embedded ads, but I never see the pre or post ads. You know, the ones where you can choose to skip after five seconds. So maybe those are being blocked as well.

New pipe is excellent for blocking all adds on YT.... Its a clunky and limited app but stops All adds. Which is fine by me.

A programmer recommended it.

Should be ...the intelligence of the median person... in order to make the “half of the population” statement technically accurate.
