If you are in North America, you can't go wrong with a Dickinson stove. Very good build quality.

No advice for you (we have an old Force 10 that is still ticking along just fine) but remember to check the dimensions, particularly if you're not thinking of an entire galley redo. You might be limited in your options due to size.

Re: Replacement of Propane Oven/Stove 40ft boat

I installed a new Force-10 about seven years ago. Have nothing but good things to say about it. It is one of the smaller stoves: 2 burner, small oven. European model I think.

Re: Replacement of Propane Oven/Stove 40ft boat

We replaced our 30 year old Force 10 stove/oven and bought the 3 burner Force 10 with oven and broiler. We are very happy with it AND it fit in the same place with very little modification. 1/2 hour and I was done. Shocking, perhaps the only boat project I have done in 30 years that was easier than expected.

We bought a Dickenson Mediterranean. Freakin' LOVE it. Way better than our old Princess.

Same here, the old Princess gave up, so have to bite the wallet and fork out for a stove. Any review on the Eno range, which should be made by Force 10 as well?
Thank you.

BP, I actually tried that for a while with my little oven. The only difference it seemed to make was to add significantly to baking times since now the oven had to heat up the big stone first.

I know this technique works for many, but not with my little oven. Maybe it's because it is so small ... about twice the size of a normal toaster oven.

Thank you.
We have the Eno with separate cooktop and their top of the line Perigord oven. The cooktop is excellent performer. The oven, despite having a real adjustable gas thermostat, being fully serviced by authorized agent to ensure it is operating "as designed" , is totally unremarkable. Even with the time honored pizza stone added, it's slow to heat to the required temperature and slow to maintain / reheat again to selected temperature after a quick opening of the oven door to check or add food. I cannot recommend it.

When researching a possible replacement propane oven I keep coming back to gn-espace.com LPG Gas Marine Cookers – GN Espace – Yacht Galley Systems whom make high end (custom) marine galley equipment. Their sales literature addresses the known issues of standard offering marine ovens and fuel efficiency of gas hobs. If your new marine stove is intending to be a long term boat investment they may be worth a hard look.

Re: Replacement of Propane Oven/Stove 40ft boat

Just going to drop this in here. Yes, we replaced our Princess with a Dickenson Mediterranean. But if you have a Princess and don't want to replace it, I still have our old one in the garage. It worked when removed. Make me an offer, or make me an offer on the parts you want.
