If you have a weather window, outside the Frisian islands is also a variant. You'll likely have the wind with you.

Routing advice in Germany: Netherlands (Delfzijil) --> Elbe, Kiel canal

These waters were my training grounds... welcome Take care in this area because with high winds it can get very tough. If the weather is too bad to go outside, I would not attempt the "wadden" either. Also, get the tides right and the currents and know that the wind pushes a lot of water around too. I have seen 50cm correction for wind alone... during low tide I have seen the wind empty a basin by blowing the water over the sandbar and only sand left. I had to walk back with my windsurf board...

The OP is from the UK, so they will know all about tidal planning!

These are beautiful places, worth taking some time in.

But Jedi is right about the weather -- the last time we passed through these waters (last month), a F9 was blowing, and it was fearsome. Don't mess with the North Sea!
