SkiprJohn and On and On ...

Just thought I'd share this.... SkiprJohn made his 9000th post yesterday. Haven't seen him for 24 hours now - so just in case he's not posting 'cos the number looks so beautiful, I thought I'd just preserve it for eternity!!!

On a serious note... thank you, John. I owe a massive thanks to guys such as yourself who are willing to spend the time helping us Noobs along - you have been invaluable with the advice you have given me along the way as HWMO and I have been rebuilding and kitting out our yacht in preparation for casting off (hopefully later this year, now!)

Re: SkiprJohn and On and On...

As John was one of my crew for the ill-fated Ca. to Hi. crossing My hat is off to you. I'm still working on 2000 posts. Just so everyone knows...John does not talk that much unless he has something profound to say...

Hey, I'm a celeb.
Thanks for the thanks.
You'll probably realize sooner or later that the way I got so many posts was not because I had anything too thoughtful to say. I just say "welcome aboard" each time I see someone new on "Meets and Greets."
kind regards,

kind regards,
I used to do that too, before the powers asked me to do this mod thing and I ran out of any time to call my own...

... and I really enjoyed it. Mostly because I felt I was in a way saying thanks to all the members who welcomed me so warmly when I first hopped onboard! Those of you who welcome newbs play an essential role in creating the warm, supportive atmosphere that we all love here!

One left to go... but I'm off to bed - you'll have to take your own screenshot, I'm afraid!

Don't discount those greetings... helped me feel welcome along with your posts on whatever silly thread that I may have started.

Re: SkiprJohn and On and On...

And the greetings for new people here tend to be quite a bit friendlier than some I've seen elsewhere!
