South Pacific Anchor Winch

G'day,

I have a VS1500 winch that stopped working so removed it to the workbench.
First step after checking resistances with a meter which told me nothing remove the plastic cover held by 6 screws over the brake mechanism. If you can't get the screws undone cut off the cover.
Remove the brake assembly (I had to sacrifice a pair of long nose pliers by grinding them down to remove the circlip)
The brake tested fine on the bench the motor still not starting.
With the brake now off I was able to turn the motor shaft with multi grips, it was very tight.
I applied WD40 liberally and after a while was able to turn the shift more freely so I then attached my small battery drill to the shaft keeping revs low. This worked
and now after assembly All good.
