Truth is that even if you can get a flight into one of the affected islands you'd probably need to be considered a resident, or working with relief aid, or rebuilding. They won't be admitting tourists/visitors until they can support such.

Just so it's clear. They have lost all electricity. = no refrigeration = food shortage. = little food resources shared by many. Send money, send care packages, donate blood. but stay away until you are welcome and not a burden

We are hopeful that the Catana 47 we chartered is still afloat and in good shape, because we do want to help the economy down there.

If anyone has first-hand information and updates, that's more than the news is providing I'd appreciate it.

If you want to provide second/third/etc. hand information, please provide your source of information.

Thanks,
CNN St Martin not good. Every Moorings cat was forced upside down or on the hard. I am in South Africa. CNN.

Thanks,
Whilst I admire your brokers optimism I think it is probably misplaced. The island has been knocked back into the Dark Ages.
even if there are any boats still charter ready, I doubt you will be able to get provisions. Most of the stores have been looted.
The French and Dutch Military are here and more help is coming.
the airport is still closed.
I live here ( on what is left of) the island and I'm afraid to say it is not good.
This will take five years to get back to normal

PErhaps the charter company can send you to another base?
Sorry the news could not be any better.

Re: St. Martin Charter Oct 7 - any updates?

I just wonder if they can "open" before the next hurricane season/July '18? Loosing a full year might be as devastating to the islands economy as the storm itself...

Yes , trying to book with KLM or Air France, only to guadaloupe or martinique , from there you are on your own, regional flights to Grand Case airport maybe ok...

the us military is already arranging to evacuate its citizens via the airport,as we speak

flying in would be more difficult.

the uk ship RFA mounts bay is at anguilla, currently, with a C130 currently enroute,i think via SXM,so will probably evacuate some uk citizens on its retrun flight

Very sorry to hear about your situation and I hope that you and your family are safe. Thank you for the update. We have rescheduled for Curaçao, and are hopeful to get to St. Martin one day in the future.

God speed.
