Re: To contact, or not to contact?

I'm not using a buyers broker, I've only been in contact with the sellers broker.

I don't think they are dishonest by any means, I just have many more questions about the boat that they couldn't possibly answer. Additionally, I think a lot gets lost when you're passing information through a third party. I'm more than happy to let them coordinate the transaction and take care of the paperwork, and pay their fee for doing so, I just want more details than they can provide.

Needless to say, I've gotten the preliminary information that I was looking for directly from the seller, and we've agreed to remain in touch so that he can keep up with the boat. And I've also talked to the broker, and they are still preparing our contracts. So all is well.

Re: To contact, or not to contact?

Good on ya" (Well done) . This sounds like you are wise and respectful for all. Please remember that two parties close the deal and the agent assists and should be paid as they assist. Any hassles or delays and the agents time is then long passed. Bottom line... "honorable sailing is all". Good and direct communications in a vessel sale is "paramount". Cheers and best wishes for all. Alastair
