SO I want to Thank you all for your words and thoughts, but above all for having been taking the time to share with Monte his dream, knowledge and that same passion for oceans.
I never really came here before, but I heard a lot of stories, funny, weird or else, that Monte was enjoying reading me large smile on his face. That little giggling he had when he was quietly reading the forum allowed me to see the enjoyment he had when he was sharing with you guys what he really likes.
I love him so much!

I will now need a lot of informations, I'll have thousand of questions and in The cruel twist of irony, never Monte will be answering them. But I am sure that I'll find a lot of answers in his previous posts but also from all of you.
For now
I still in bequia waiting for his remains
Then I'll keep sailing his dream
I'll set sail far away from shore
And with the fair winds
I'll go where my Captain can rest in peace.

thank you again.
Jen.
Jen, beautifully written. Your last four lines brought tears to my eyes. As others, I also will help in any way possible. I'll miss some of the discussions I had with Rob; he always was a voice of reason and very perceptive.

The hurt will never go away, but time will dull it. Stay strong.

Re: Vale Monte

What a shock!!
Oh, Jen, I am so sorry!
It seems like just weeks ago that we were on your aft deck drinking too much in St Martin.

I can't see how Rob could have a heart attack being so slim, fit and young.

I know Bequia has a good VHF net so I have no doubt cruisers are helping you.

Keep the dream alive, Jen

Jen,

Thanks for sharing Monte with us - he was a true inspiration on this forum - providing numerous inputs, which have helped me with my L400. Thank you Monte. RIP mate.

Re: Vale Monte

We are just driving home from Monte's memorial service in Australia. In the fashion typical here for farewelling surfers, a group of us paddled out into his home waters before the service. We formed a circle, joined hands and a wreath was tossed into the sea. The wreath was splashed by each of us.

Fearsome Bass Strait was on its best behavior on this occasion. Almost winter here, so the beach was also serene:

Jen, a video was made for you. It was a fitting and very moving farewell.

Re: Vale Monte

Very sad news.

I have not been on CF long but Monte stood out with his thoughtful, wise, and kind words.

Condolences to Jen and family.

Re: Vale Monte

Hi Jen, just watched the video. Just wonderful to see someone so full of life and living it to the hilt. Its a reminder to everyone on this site and everywhere else for that matter to get out there and live the dream and just not think about it.

Re: Vale Monte

Wow....I don't know how I missed this. Especially the time I spend on this forum waiting to get back down to Mx. Monte was a great moderator. Level headed, calm, always positive and helpful. I am saddened for you Jen for such a personal loss of your partner and the change that will bring to your life here and forward. Please except my deepest sympathies and encouragement at the same time. He will be missed by all of us.
