Waterproof speakers

Good morning! I am replacing my PolyPlanar waterproof speakers that are mounted on the stern rail of my Creekmore 45. Any suggestions? Any good experiences? thanks in advance!

Re: Waterproof speakers

I am putting a flushmount set facing out from the walkthru with a switch in the arch. We have good cockpit speakers and I am wanting something we can switch to while floating off the back or sitting on the dock. That way we can hear but dont have to have it blasting in the cockpit.

We currently have a JBL remote on the helm that controls the saloon unit. I getting rid of that for a bluetooth round stereo that will drop in with fade controls. Speakerwise, Poly is good but not for the price. I'm going with something in the middle.

Jensen MSX60RVR Marine Speakers 6.5" Coaxial Speaker, Designed for Outdoor Entertainment, Completely Waterproof with UV Resistant Materials to Withstand the Outdoor Elements, Sold as Pair ($60)

Over the years I have found that outdoor speakers just dont hold up long term. So I get something that sounds very good knowing that I will replace them in 3-4 years.

Good luck

Re: Waterproof speakers

Thank you! I'll check out the Bose and that's a good point about how often you have to replace them.....I'll keep that in mind when checking out prices. I have 4 PolyPlaners inside now that I've had there for at least 10 years, only one is looking a bit old, rusting, and not even near a porthole....but salt air is everywhere....thank goodness, right?
