Re: What boats have you owned?

In 65 years of boating, this is the first time an inventory has been drafted, a couple may have been missed and some are out of order:

1. Wooden row boat at age ten then:
2. 14' aluminum row boat with 1 1/2 hp 1947 Atlas outboard.
3. 16' fiberglass canoe
4. 12' plywood runabout with 22 hp Mercury then a 35hp Evinrude
5. 14" Traveler with 35 hp Evinrude
6. 10' GW Invader with a 70 hp Mercury (Yes, it was grossly overpowered)

7. Two Minimax built from plans
8. Sunfish
9. 18' plywood home built jet with modified 454 Chevy
10. 19' Sea Ray with 235 hp Evinrude outboard
11. another 16' fiberglass canoe
12. 28' Bayliner express cruiser
13. Bayliner 3288
14. two kayaks
15. 16' Glastron with 115 Mercury
16. 20' Glastron bowrider I/O
17. 43' Wellcraft Portofino *

18. 18' Checkmate Exciter w/ 150 Yamaha *

19. 10' Hydroforce with 9.9 Evinrude *
20. 25' Lowe's pontoon - work boat with derrick on bow along with vertical push bars. *
21. 13' plywood homebuilt 3 point hydro with 90 hp outboard
22. 18' fiberglass canoe *
23. 12' kayak*
24. 15' wooden rowboat

* boats still owned.

Being on the water is still as wonderful as it was in the mid 1950s. Now the 11 year old, soon to be 12, spends two weeks a year aboard with Grandpa and is learning to love being on the water regardless of if it's cruising, anchored at a beach, or at a marina.

Re: What boats have you owned?

1970s - 80s Trimaran Nougat (Think Tristar - if you can tell them apart - you know more than 99.9%) - the fastest and most capable
Hired a couple of monos
30ft Tri about £30K over engineered by previous owner
22ft Hirondele £6k like a dingy with a cabin, rudder rake angle made it difficult to tack
25ft summer Twins £15k By far the favourite, it’s a little slow. Cabin layout is fantastic, a little bit hobby horse in 1m waves bigger and smaller it’s great, cabin. Space is just huge. Just often get asked on its size when visiting marinas as it’s Huge for a 25ft boat.
Admiral will not let me change it, even for a 46ft Tri.

Was that Owned our Own!
Also Boats is a rather loose term allowing me to really stack up the current fleet which has just grown further in retirement and currently needs some heavy trimming!
1. Imexus 28 TS Outboard Version
2. Imexus 28 TS Inboard Version ( being prepared for sale.).
3. Hobie Aventure Island Tandem Sailing Trimaran
4. Hobie Aventure Island Single Sailing Trimaran
5. UFO Foiling Catamaran ( new addition)
6. 2x sea kayaks
7. 2x white water kayaks
8. Hobie I11 inflatable pedal kayak/standup paddle board
9.Hobie I9 inflatable kayak with sail kit
10. Inflatable stand up paddle board.
11. AX2 inflatable dingy in poor repair!
12. 2.6m inflatable dingy with alloy floor.

Counting yachts, windsurfers, kayaks, canoes, dingy’s and assorted other water craft previously owned I am not up for writing a novel!

Re: What boats have you owned?

Ha....where do I start....

Skipping over the myriad of dinks, rafts, sailing dinks, and other flotsam and jetsam I've owned....too many to recount here.....

Roberts 38, hand built in steel from the ground up.....circa 1978....launched 1980.....home for next 15 years or so...
C&C landfall 43...how I ended with this boat is a long story...owned 10 years...
Beneteau 432....as above, was in the right place at the right time....owned 10 years...

Three fishing boats....from 15' to 24'. First powered by 50 hp , next by by single 200 hp Yamaha, last one with twin 150's.

For most all of this time, I have been a liveaboard, with short incursions to shoreside between boats..
