Most apt!! We have spent more than twenty years cruising the Indian Ocean, Red Sea and parts of the Med. Time to turn west!

Re: What else to watch?

We watched the movie titled the Guardian, it is an adventure about USCG people. I loved the movie, good story, impressive imagery, well worth watching IMHO.

SV La Vagabonde

200,000 subscribers on Youtube
1,000,000 plus views of some of their stuff.
1000 plus people voluntarily pay them something per video or month because they appreciate the videos they get to watch.

They're all wrong and your right

Narcissistic brats with a business plan. Who'd have thought?

I was just about to comment on the fact that for a supposedly "relaxed" community, some of the comments here are rather discourteous.

I enjoy watching the "narcissistic brats" because they show me places I know I'll probably never go to on my own. I also find them inspirational, and educational. I discovered what a 54' Amel Super Maramu was, what a Mizzen is, where Cocos Keeling is, and a whole host of other stuff.

I guess every community has their own version of Mr. Heckles.

For me personally, I find them highly educational and delivered in a manner which I highly enjoy.

I've never stepped foot on a sailboat, so seeing someone scrape the hull, untangle the halyard, repair a mast boot, stitch a sail, or use their auto pilot is educational.

Look at my "Whole Lotta Nope" thread. The first video I was like, "no way in hell I'm getting in waters like that." But by the end of Kenomac's posts and videos of his own, I was more willing to try it.

Check out "Untie The Lines" - honest videos about a young woman buying a used sailboat and the trials and tribulations of refitting and finally realising her dream...

Dreaming, wishing, planning, imagining....
Living vicariously can be satisfying in the short term if it's feeding the motivation to keep working at it until your dreams are reality.

Although, I admit, I don't watch too many videos. Most are of younger people and it makes me remember my body will never look that hot in a bikini again.

You're only as old as you feel, and if you want to wear a bikini, you should!

You missed the "not hot" part right? LOL. Oh wait.....that's why people wear mirrored sunglasses, so you can't tell you just made their eyes cross.....oh!

I talked to the marina today. The harbor master should be contacting tomorrow.

I don't know how entertaining dock walking would be though! LOL

I'm really enjoying her take on it. Seeing her work on this broken down little boat is really refreshing and inspiring.
