What happened to..

I am sitting here after reading a thread about sea rescues and thinking about this one member who went through the whole prep to go out and single hand around the globe and got out two days and got horribly sea sick and had to turn back. I am not sure if he made a second attempt. I believe he was sailing out of San Francisco.

In reading I was wondering what happened to him. Does anybody remember who I am talking about? Does anyone know if he actually was able to get going? I am guessing it was a couple a years ago. I have moved several times and my time lines are all screwed up...
